The long awaited season... SPRING! Sometimes it feels like it takes forever to get here! Rain, muddy paws, puddles... oh and did I mention muddy paws? Lots of them! Eight of them to be exact every time we step outside! Spring also brings fresh air & sunshine with the smell of summer not far behind. The birds, buds and green grass are all a welcomed sight.
Here in Western NY our winters are long. We wait for the snow to disappear and the clouds to pass. We put our shovels, snowblowers and winter jackets away! When Spring finally arrives, we're like little kids wanting to go out and play and our dogs are no exception. We've been held hostage indoors for too long. We've survived snow storms, several feet of snow (sometimes all at once), negative temps and wind chills that will take your breath away! Time to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
Let your dog explore all that's new this season. Get out there for a long walk, a good game of fetch or frisbee, or just sit and soak up the warmth of the sun. Turn off your heat and let the fresh air INside too.
Spring is also the season to think about flea and tick prevention and protection. With everything else that's budding and sprouting, so are the pests that like to prey on our pets. A healthy pet = a happy pet :)
